Backpack Sunday
August 10th
10:45 AM Service
Join us for our annual Backpack Sunday celebration at Franklin First UMC! As our children and school staff prepare to return to classrooms, we will come together during our 10:45 AM worship service on August 10th to ask for God's blessings upon them for a new academic year.
This cherished tradition is a wonderful opportunity to uplift our students, teachers, and school administrators as they embark on another journey of learning and growth. We encourage you to bring your own backpacks, school bags, or even a symbolic item to be blessed during this special service. After service, children will be able to select some needed supplies for school.
We also invite our entire community to participate in a meaningful way: Please be collecting school supplies! We will be joyfully giving away these collected supplies to children and school staff members, helping to equip them for success. Following the worship service, students will have the opportunity to select some free school supplies!
Your generosity can make a real difference in the lives of those in our schools. Invite your family, friends, and neighbors to share in these heartfelt blessings and be a part of this inspiring start to the school year. We can't wait to see you there!
Walking in His Sandals
A Two-Week Sermon Series
with Pastor Laura – August 17 & 24
When we read the Bible today, we do so from the comfort of modern life—climate-controlled homes, running water, instant communication, and countless conveniences. But life in Jesus’ time was vastly different. People faced daily hardships, lived with limited resources, and navigated a society structured in ways that may seem foreign to us.
In this two-week series, Pastor Laura invites you to step back in time and explore what everyday life was really like in the days of Jesus. Through vivid storytelling and historical insights, these messages will deepen your understanding of Scripture by helping you see it through the eyes of those who first heard it.
Join us on August 17 and 24 as we walk in His sandals—and discover the richness of God’s Word in a whole new light.
The safety of our children is a top priority. If you work with children in any capacity, please plan to attend one of our upcoming Safe Sanctuary training sessions with Pastor Laura:
Each session includes a meal and will last one hour.
Please register by Sunday, August 17 so we can prepare materials and food. Background check releases will also be completed during the meeting.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and nurturing environment for our children!.
Threads of Faith: Weaving Generations Together.
September 7th
10:45 am
Grandparents Sunday, where we honor the legacy of faith passed down through generations.
Inspired by Psalm 78:1–7, this special service will reflect on the beautiful tapestry God weaves through families—each thread representing stories, wisdom, and love shared across time.
We’ll celebrate the vital role grandparents play in nurturing faith and guiding future generations.
Whether you're a grandparent, parent, child, or friend, come be part of this interwoven celebration of faith, family, and legacy.
Let’s honor the threads that connect us—and the God who holds them all together.
