At Franklin First Church, we believe that when we try and live life by our own devices, we are selling ourselves short. God has so much more to offer.

Life can be hard. Different voices are calling us in divergent directions. Which path do we follow? God’s voice is the voice of Truth, and our mission is to work together to recognize God’s leading and apply it to our lives. We also seek to share that Good News in ways that bring blessing to others.

You are invited to join us as we explore God’s Word and reach out to serve our neighbors. At Franklin First, we find purpose by opening ourselves to God’s love and mission.

What Does It Mean to be a United Methodist Church?

The United Methodist Church is a global denomination that opens hearts, opens minds and opens doors through active engagement with our world. The mission of The United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

John Wesley and the early Methodists placed primary emphasis on Christian living, on putting faith and love into action. This emphasis on what Wesley referred to as "practical divinity" has continued to be a hallmark of United Methodism today.

Meet Our Staff

Pastor Laura Saunders

Pastor Laura and her husband Lee are native to northwest Ohio but have enjoyed residing in Franklin since 2017. They have three children and love to spoil their grand and great-grandchildren. Both are dog lovers and like to get involved in their community.

A graduate of the Methodist Theological Seminary in Ohio, Laura is a second career pastor and has served churches in Wauseon and Milford, Ohio. She particularly enjoys leading Franklin First because this modest-sized church has a mighty heart for its Franklin neighbors.
