Safe Sanctuary Training 

Join us for a vital training session that ensures the safety and well-being of our youngest members. The West Ohio Conference mandates that we provide the Safe Sanctuary training for all individuals working with children at Franklin First. This is more than a requirement; it’s our commitment to creating a secure environment for our kids to learn, grow, and explore their faith.

September 12th at 6:30 PM 

Dessert will be served and the training will last about one hour.

Your presence is not just encouraged; it’s a step towards safeguarding our children’s future. Please plan to attend this essential training. Together, we can ensure that Franklin First remains a sanctuary of trust and safety.

Pastor Laura is excited to announce a Confirmation Class for all sixth through high school students. This is a fantastic opportunity to deepen your faith and prepare for Confirmation.

Class Details:

• When: After church on the third Sunday of each month
• Duration: September through March

Join Us for Homecoming Sunday

 at Franklin First UMC!

Mark your calendars for September 22nd as we celebrate Homecoming Sunday with a special worship service featuring music from all our groups and a commemorative service.

After worship, you’re invited to a complimentary luncheon hosted by The Coffee Collab food truck, serving delicious pizza and pulled pork sandwiches.

Do Unto Others

Our world is divided, especially during election season. The Golden Rule challenges us to engage in conversation and seek common good with those we might consider politically or ideologically different. The goal is not to change each other but to discover the beauty in working together for a better world. This “purple space” fosters kindness, compassion, humility, respect, and love.

This fall, Franklin First joins other United Methodist Churches in the “Do Unto Others” series. The aim is to find common ground and reduce polarization. The lessons will be useful in many aspects of life, not just politics.

Series Schedule:

• September 29: “Blue and Red Make Purple: Kindness” (Luke 6:31-36)
• October 6: “The Polarization Within: Compassion” (Isaiah 11:6-9)
• October 13: “Listen More, Speak Less: Humility” (Ephesians 4:1-6)
• October 20: “Living Together on Uncommon Ground: Respect” (1 Corinthians 12:1-26)
• October 27: “Malice Toward None: Love” (Matthew 22:34-40)

Jesus lived in turbulent times too. His teachings guide us to treat others generously. During this campaign, we will apply Jesus’ instructions in practical ways in our daily lives. We will have yard signs promoting kindness, “Love Your Neighbor” kits, a “Discovery Plan” for reading Bible stories, and a “Love Your Neighbor Map” for connecting with others.

 Our country needs Christians who focus on building relationships rather than engaging in divisive actions.
